Did you know that, when chocolate was introduced in France, drinkers were disgusted by its black aspect and acrid taste? At that time, neither sugar nor fat were added. In fact, doctors cataloged it as a medicine! Now that you know that it is good for your health, you found the perfect pretext to join this chocolate tour! In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris’s long-established and fanciest neighborhood, taste the best chocolate trends and creations of the moment! Guilt free, let us summarize your tour!

What do a coin, a lily flower and a golf ball have in common? They have all been recreated in chocolate by the chocolate firm that you will be visiting at the start of your TourThe shop has been in the same place for 200 years. A guarantee of reliable quality!

You will then continue to the next boutique where the owner is known as the Michelangelo of Chocolate, because he delicately shapes statues out of chocolate and handpaints them. His shop holds its reputation as one of the best chocolate factories in the world for a reason!

In the next part of your chocolate tour in Paris, you will savor all shapes and kinds of these by tasting it as a square, a tablet, a bite or even a beverage! You will hear about this craftsman who creates chocolate dresses and accessories for true fashion shows. The very same who had the idea to literally understand the name “chocolate truffle” and to create chocolate with truffle. For sure, a curiosity!

Finally, you will discover new chocolate trends, learn the various meanings for a chocolate “bar” and know if you belong to the chocolate suckers or chocolate crunchers. These two tribes struggled for almost as long as the mists of Time to discover the legal method for chocolate tasting. Don’t worry, you have the right not to choose any side and to make the most of each!

Is this Chocolate tour okay for me if I’m vegetarian?

Yes, if you’re veggie, this tour is absolutely suitable for you. If you’re vegan, it’s not recommended because a lot of chocolate bites mix chocolate with dairy products.

If you’re not a chocolate buff but simply a chocolate lover, this tour will teach you alot. If you’re a specialist, you will appreciate even more the refined tastings this tour allows and will discover some very exclusive French brands that your insight might not have yet encompassed.

Can I buy chocolate as a gift and how do I preserve it?

You can buy samples as gifts at any stop of this chocolate tour. Until you’re back home, you can keep them in the fridge of your apartment or hotel room. You might as well order chocolate from any brand’s website, most of them offer delivery to foreign countries within 48 to 72 hours. Don’t hesitate to ask your Welcomer to have all the information needed!

  1. :

What a fun and delicious experience with Sophie. We were late to the tour, and they were so gracious, we just called the number on the voucher. The tour was a blast. She told us about the history of chocolate in Paris, while we tasted our way through it. I believe we stopped 5 chocolate shops. We finished the tour at the cafe with hot chocolate, perfect for a cold day! Would highly recommend!!

  2. :

I looked at many chocolate tours to find one that fit our schedule and budget. It was a surprise for my husband for our anniversary while we were in Paris during a Europe trip. Sophie told us many interesting “chocolate” things and we had several samples, so the price was very good. And it was great to “meet a local” who really knows Paris.

If you like chocolate, this tour is for you… If you don’t like chocolate, this tour is a must-do… impossible to resist to the delights we tasted. And Guenael makes this tasing wonderful with a lot a little snippets… French chocolate master makers are really talented. Yummy !
