Orsay Museum Mystery – Kids Tour (Private)
Coming to the Orsay Museum with children can sometimes be challenging. At Meet the Locals, we like challenges and have decided to help the parents. With no queue to test your children’s patience, a visit adapted to their interests and an exciting treasure hunt to pursue, we guarantee an ideal tour that thrills both parents and kids without a doubt!
Following your Welcomer, your children will go on a fantastic journey through 19th Century paintings. With the help of an activity booklet, they will find instructions and amusing questions to help them navigate through Art history.
While seeking their first clue on this “Treasure Hunt Paris Art Tour”, your Welcomer will give your children interesting information about the museum’s creation. Formerly a train station, which only ran between 1900 and 1939, the Orsay Museum in Paris was about to be destroyed before turning into a museum. Your children will walk where rails previously crossed!
Using their observational skills and your guide’s recommendations, your youngsters will have the opportunity to see beautiful works of art and breath-taking viewpoints upon the museum’s Great Nave. Your Welcomer will then lead you to rooms usually forgotten during classical visits. For example, on the median terraces, lies a sculpture of the highest quality from Rodin, Pompon and Camille Claudel. Your Welcomer will get them into the painting spirit and include some hidden details that may be very useful for their mission!
The Impressionist collection is nothing less than the best in the world. Your kids will eyewitness the work of the masters such as Degas’ Ballet Classes, Renoir’s Bal du Moulin de la Galette or Monet’s Poppy Field, to mention a very few!
At the end of the tour, your children should have resolved the initial enigma and traveled without boredom throughout the second half of the 19th century!
