Important Remark: This Royal Versailles Family Tour can only be booked on Saturday afternoons from June 15 to September 21, 2019.
Let your fantasy begin! This tour has been built as an immersive experience into the life and deeds of the kings and courtiers at the time of the Court. You will unveil the deepest secrets and anecdotes about Versailles Palace and its sumptuous decorations. The Court and royals will come back to life just for you!
You will leave Paris with your guide and embark on a pleasant 40-min train ride to Versailles. Once there, your royal privileges will continue with direct VIP access to the Chateau. You are now stepping into the sumptuous residence of Louis XIV.
First, you will enter the King’s State apartments. He has three outsized official apartments within the Chateau. One of them was his bedroom, with a view of the courtyard. Another one is the famous Hall of Mirrors, decorated with fantastic crystal chandeliers, giant bay windows, and of course walls covered with mirrors. And the last apartment was the King’s office, where he used to gather all his advisors and make crucial decisions about France. You will also discover the Queen’s apartments which reopened in April 2019 after 3 years of refurbishment works!
Now it’s teatime! Enjoy a tasty break in the cozy atmosphere of a tearoom of which Marie-Antoinette would have approved. Freshen up a little and enjoy some French pastries.
Indulge yourself in a memorable experience with this Versailles Family Tour
Then, you will watch the magical Fountain Show in the Palace’s gardens. The Chateau of Versailles gardens are like a maze, a well-designed landscape with its fountains, canals, and sculptures. Its fairytale environment animates itself for the Fountain Show. You will be able to admire the colorful harmony of the place.
You will then be invited back to the Hall of Mirrors for a royal ballet. The Royal Serenade is a 40 minute musical show with dancers dressed in period costumes. This nice interlude will take you back to the King’s time where the only preoccupation was your hairstyle for the party. You will feel like a time traveler, back in the 16th century!
By the end of your royal afternoon at Versailles, you will have mastered the Royal “Etiquette” and be familiar with the oddest roles that nobles and courtiers held in this luxurious world. Time to get back to Paris!
